Hi! Welcome to Episode 20 of Download David, the pod cast that explores fantasy football. It is below freezing today in Issaquah. I am your host, David Baydek, and I started playing fantasy football with my dad in the nineties. The website for this pod cast is DOWNLOAD DAVID DOT WORDPRESS DOT COM. The website is updated throughout the week to help you with all your decisions. The pod cast can be found on iTunes. My rankings will be posted every Friday. The phone number of Download David is (509) 426-3272. Enough with the plugs, let’s start the show!

Now it is time for the rankings update for WEEK 15. David Garrard has been complimenting MJD and has played pretty consistently. I think the Jags/Colts game will be a high scoring affair which is why Garrard goes from 15th to 8th. Matt Ryan has been great at home and shaky on the road. Qwest field is the biggest home field advantage in the NFL. You can run all day on the Seahawks so Ryan drops from 6th to 12th. Just a reminder that Eli is playing outside in December. Stay away.

Tim Hightower has been the only back performing in Arizona this year. Skelton may not be able to get the ball to Fitzgerald so Tim jumps from 20th to 10th. Fred Jackson disappeared last game and seeing how Miami stopped the Jets attack, Jackson drops from 17th to 26th. The Minnesota Chicago game will be played outside at the University of Minnesota stadium. The field is frozen solid right now and is fake field turf. I think that this helps Forte and hurts Peterson.

Deion Branch has been on fire lately. Brady seems to find him for at least one TD a game. Branch jumps into the top 15 and is a must start, especially in bad weather. Jennings goes from a must start to a flex play with the likelihood of Matt Flynn throwing him the ball. Hakeem Nicks is the only healthy Giant receiver that you can trust. Manningham is hurt and Smith is out for the year. Nicks should get deep for a few bombs.

Kevin Boss is a top 5 play this week because of the injuries that the Giants have suffered this year. Dustin Keller has been atrocious since week 4. He drops to 23 because I can’t remember a game where he has scored 5 points.  Gronkowski seems to be Brady’s favorite tight end at the moment. He rockets into the top 8 and is a lottery ticket at the position.

Now quickly for start em or sit em.
QB’s Start: Garrard, Kitna, and Collins. Sit: Eli, Ryan, and Campbell.
RB’s Start: Hightower, Stewart, and Hillis. Sit: Peterson, Mendenhall, and Fred Jackson.
WR’s Start: Branch, Maclin, and Nicks. Sit: Jennings, Fitzgerald, and Holmes.
TE’s Start: Gronkowski, Boss, and Zach Miller. Sit: Olsen, Keller, and Cooley.

Alright now is the time where I tell you who wins every football game of the week. Well I at least tell you who would win if luck didn’t play a factor. My picks: Browns, Cowboys, Texans, Colts, Chiefs, Dolphins, Bucs, Cardinals, Saints, Eagles, Falcons, Steelers, Raiders, Pats, and Bears.

That wraps up Download David for WEEK 15. Join me Thursday for injury updates and a preview of the Panthers vs. the Steelers. Please rate the pod cast and leave comments on iTunes. (Ridiculous Intro music)

Hi! Welcome to Episode 19 of Download David, the pod cast that explores fantasy football. It is 30 degrees here in Spokane.

WEEK 15 has one Thursday night game on the NFL Network. The Niners take on the Chargers. I will go over injury news first and then analyze the game.

INJURY NEWS. Quarterbacks. Matt Cassel got a week of rest after having an appendectomy. He should be good this week which also raises the value of Dwayne Bowe. Brett Favre is injured again. If you wanna be sneaky, Joe Webb is wide receiver eligible in some leagues, and could be a good flex play only if you are desperate. Aaron Rodgers left the game Sunday with a concussion. He hasn’t been practicing at all this week and seeing as how this is his second of the year, Matt Flynn will get the start. Stay away from this situation.  Colt McCoy is on his way back and will take over for Jake Delhomme for the rest of the year. He was steady when he got the chance to play. He’ll be in the teens in my rankings tomorrow.

Running Backs. Addai and Hart are no closer to playing than last week. James ran better than Donald Brown last week and will be a flex play this week. Chris Ivory had to leave the game with a hamstring. Pierre Thomas ran descent last week and if Ivory can’t go than Thomas will finally be fantasy relevant. All Day is still dealing with a knee injury but he should play a lot better this week. Marion Barber will play Sunday but should not matter in terms of fantasy points.

Wide Receivers. Austin Collie practiced fully yesterday which could eat into Pierre Garcon’s targets. Manning should throw all over the Jags this week so any healthy receiver is worth a shot. DeSean Jackson sprained his foot the same game he accumulated 200 yards. He will play but watch the practice reports tomorrow. Steve Smith of New York came back from his pectoral injury only to hurt his knee and is now on the IR. Hakeem Nicks gained almost 100 yards and reclaims his spot as Eli’s number one target. Seattle’s wideouts, Williams and Obamanu, are getting healthy but aren’t a good play this week. If Atlanta wins than they have the inside track to playing in a dome all the way to Dallas.

Tight Ends. Antonio Gates is out for the game today. McMichael should fill in well in his absence. Zach Miller has been limited the last few weeks but has practiced fully so far. He is an OK start against Denver. Todd Heap didn’t play Monday and probably won’t be available until next week. Jacob Tamme is playing through injury but should be a lock for 6 points with Manning looking better.

The Thursday night game could have been a preseason Superbowl battle. Both teams are struggling to make the playoffs. The Chargers have to win to stay alive and I like them to win at home 45-10 in a lopsided affair. Rivers, Westbrook, and McMichael should be started if you don’t have a better option.

That wraps up the injury report for WEEK 15. I’ll be back on Saturday to update rankings and give advice on who should start and who should be on your bench. I will give you my weekly picks which I am 122-86 on the year. You can post questions on the website which is DOWNLOAD DAVID DOT WORDPRESS DOT COM or call the voicemail at (509) 426-3272. Episode 18 is now on iTunes

(Ridiculous Intro music)

Hi! Welcome to Episode 18 of Download David, the pod cast that explores fantasy football. It is another cold day in Spokane.

Now it is time for the rankings update for WEEK 14. With the threat of snow in New England, Jay Cutler will move down in my rankings. He slides 6 spots to number 15 because of the weather. He is already prone to throwing picks and this doesn’t help him at all. Eli Manning jumps 5 spots to number 5 because of the extra day of rest. Snow caused a leak in Minnesota and the Giants receivers could use all the rest they can get. Orton cracks the top 8 after news that Tim Tebow won’t have a bigger role than he’s had all season. Why was that guy drafted in the first round?

Matt Forte sneaks into the top 10 for the first time this season. Cutler should be throwing a lot of check downs and if the game is close, the Bears will run the ball to control the clock. Ray Rice has disappeared lately from fantasy relevance. He drops to number 20 because the Texans have the worst pass defense in the NFL. Thomas Jones moves up to number 17 because of Brody Croyle starting. He should be able to hand the ball off to the Chiefs running backs better than anyone.

Anquan Boldin got open for basically two plays last week against the Steelers. This week he should not be covered which rockets him from 18th to 10th. Dwayne Bowe’s fantasy value could drop into Steve Smith of Carolina territory. Both guys are talented but they need someone to throw them the ball. Bowe plummets from 10 down to 23rd because of Croyle. Desean Jackson is a threat to score on every play. I think he gets a touchdown or two and is ranked number 7 because of that.

Gresham has been doing quite well for being on the Bengals. He lands at number 13 because of his ability to catch balls in the end zone. If you want upside and double digit potential, start him. Dustin Keller has been a sinking ship ever since Santonio Holmes has come back. He shouldn’t be started in anything but two tight end leagues. He falls to 19th this week because Sanchez doesn’t look for him at all.

Now quickly for start em or sit em.
QB’s Start: Eli, Flacco, and Orton. Sit: Freeman, Ryan, and Cutler.
RB’s Start: Bradshaw, Forte, Thomas Jones. Sit: Jacobs, Rice, and Fred Jackson.
WR’s Start: Welker, Boldin, and Floyd. Sit: Bowe, Wallace, and Holmes.
TE’s Start: Gresham, Pettigrew, and Dickson. Sit: Lewis, Keller, and Daniels.

Alright now is the time where I tell you who wins every football game of the week. Well I at least tell you who would win if luck didn’t play a factor. My picks: Browns, Packers, Steelers, Bucs, Falcons, Jags, Seahawks, Saints, Pats, Jets, Broncos, Chargers, Eagles, Giants, and Ravens.

That wraps up Download David for WEEK 14. Join me Thursday for injury updates and a preview of the 49ers vs. the Chargers. Please rate the pod cast and leave comments on iTunes. Hi! Welcome to Episode 17 of Download David, the pod cast that explores fantasy football. It is still below freezing here in Spokane.

WEEK 14 has one Thursday night game on the NFL Network. The Titans take on the Colts. I will go over injury news first and then analyze the game.

INJURY NEWS. Quarterbacks. Matt Cassel had an appendectomy yesterday and is listed as Questionable. I think he has no shot of playing. Brody Croyle will be his replacement. Croyle will be next to last in my rankings tomorrow. Big Ben had a broken nose on what should have been a personal foul on Sunday. He was mobile enough to make plays even with a broken foot. There are no worries starting him this week. Brett Favre is injured and might not play…not important unless you live in Eden Prairie and care. Derek Anderson is out this week with a concussion and the backup Max Hall will be unavailable as well. Which means John Skelton will start. He will be last in my rankings tomorrow.

Running Backs. Addai and Hart are not going to play today giving Donald Brown another shot at running the ball. He hasn’t done much with his opportunity yet and I would gamble on a 1 yard touchdown run by James than Brown gaining 60 yards. Ryan Torain practiced for the first time in ages. I would stay far away from the Washington backfield. Keiland Williams isn’t even dependable because Shanahan is crazy. Pierre Thomas isn’t even on the injury report this week so he looks to play on Sunday. Just remember that Reggie Bush came back two weeks ago and had 2 touches all game. Chris Ivory will be the starter come Sunday.

Wide Receivers. Kenny Britt should make his debut tonight. He is coming back from a hamstring injury that can take a few games to get back to full speed. Mike Williams of Tampa has a knee issue and will rest it all week. Check the inactives Sunday morning for his status. Percy Harvin missed last game because of migraines and hasn’t practiced yet. He is another guy you have to wait and see. Dez Bryant is done for the year. You can drop him in all non-keeper leagues. Austin Collie has been ruled out for tonight. Pierre Garcon had a good week for the first time in ages. He is a solid number 2 receiver this week. Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith should both play on Sunday which kills any value Derek Hagen may have had. Both will be monitored closely but the game is indoors so no risk of injury in the elements. I would rank Nicks over Smith this week and Manningham over Nicks because of how many more snaps he will see. Malcom Floyd is the only healthy receiver for the Chargers and is a must start. Everyone is hurt in Seattle making Marshawn Lynch the best option. Stay away from any other Seahawk. Brandon Marshall looks to play this week although he won’t be close to fully healthy.

Tight Ends. Antonio Gates is playing with the same injury as Zach Miller. Gates will be San Diego’s number two option and a good play in a must win game. Zach Miller hasn’t improved much and should not be in your lineup. Todd Heap pulled his hamstring Sunday night and will not play this week. Dickson should be ok filling in if you are in a deeper league. Tony Gonzalez went out of the Tampa game after twisting an ankle. He has practiced all week and should play. Heath Miller was the recipient of a brutal hit Sunday and won’t play this week.

The Thursday night game should be a blowout on paper but the Colts have been struggling recently. I like Chris Johnson to get the ball a ton this game but not enough to win. I am picking the Colts to win 31-21.

That wraps up the injury report for WEEK 14. I’ll be back on Saturday to update rankings and give advice on who should start and who should be on your bench. I will give you my weekly picks which I am 111-81 on the year. You can post questions on the website which is DOWNLOAD DAVID DOT WORDPRESS DOT COM or call the voicemail at (509) 426-3272. The text of this pod cast can be found at DOWNLOAD DAVID DOT WORDPRESS DOT COM. Please rate the pod cast and leave comments on iTunes. Thank you for listening to the 17th episode of Download David. I am David Baydek hoping your team does well on Sunday so you can have a better rest of the week. (Outro)

Hi! Welcome to Episode 16 of Download David, the pod cast that explores fantasy football. It is another cold day in Spokane.

Now it is time for the rankings update for WEEK 13. Big Ben moves down to number 18 because of his limited mobility caused by a broken foot. The Steelers will do everything to make sure that he doesn’t have to throw. Baltimore will welcome the hobbled quarterback with open arms. Sam Bradford has been on a roll lately. He is going up against a high school like defense in the cards. I think he will throw for 250 and at least two scores. That is why he moves up 5 spots to number 7.

Brian Westbrook dismantled the cards last week filling in for Frank Gore. I don’t think you can expect that kind of game but he moves up 10 spots to number 12 because he will get you double digits. Darren McFadden had a bad game last week in Oakland’s loss to Miami. He drops out of the top 20 because Oakland can get down early and abandon the run. He is a flex play at best this week.

Anquan Boldin has been kryptonite for fantasy owners this year. Every week he gets ranked high and every week he does little while Derrick Mason steals his targets. Mason joins the rankings at 19 and Boldin slips to 26. Chad Ochocinco has quietly had a good year. Not as high profile as TO but descent nonetheless. Chad climbs up to number 20 because of his consistency.

Heath Miller cracks the top 10 for the first time this year. I suspect Ben won’t have much time to throw and Miller does a good job of running curls and seam routs. 60 yards and a touchdown is how good I think he will be on Sunday. Antonio Gates slides down 10 spots to number 20. He played a lot last week but was ineffective for most of the game. He should do better this week but wait until the fantasy playoffs before you think about using him.

Now quickly for start em or sit em.
QB’s Start: Fitzpatrick, Bradford, and Orton. Sit: Roethlisberger, Eli Manning(It‘s December), and Cutler.
RB’s Start: Bradshaw, Westbrook, and Benson. Sit: Jacobs, McFadden, and Blount.
WR’s Start: Welker, Mason, and OchoCinco. Sit: Boldin, Holmes, and Bryant.
TE’s Start: Heath Miller, Pettigrew, and Boss. Sit: Gates, Zach Millers, and Gronkowski.

Alright now is the time where I tell you who wins every football game of the week. Well I at least tell you who would win if luck didn’t play a factor. My picks: Saints, Bears, Packers, Jags, Chiefs, Browns, Vikes, Giants, Chargers, Falcons, Seahawks, Rams, Colts, Ravens, Jets.
